3. FOOTBALL STADIUM

                                                 CSA Coat of Arms

The club was created during the Second World War, in 1942-1943, by Madame Leboucher, wife of the notary of Cahagnes.  The stadium was then in the field of a farmer, Mr Abel. A few years later, the municipality made available to the club a field on which players still play today.

The 1970s. The CSA develops its senior teams with encouraging results. She even flew over her championship, as in 1970-1971, where in 13 matches, she won 13 victories, even scoring her 100th goal in this thirteenth game. During these prosperous years, the club organizes its annual tournament which brings together thirty teams each time. Cahagnaise teams regularly come out of these local "grips".

21 August 1977: inauguration of the stadium. First important date for the Amicale Sportive Cahagnaise, which saw the inauguration of its fetish stadium. Significant work and significant investment by the Town Hall, including lighting, drainage, handrail and lawn, were completed. And on this beautiful summer day, the professional team of Laval met a selection of Calvados in front of about 1000 spectators, that is to say, more of the population of the village of the time.

Change of Chairman. At the end of the 1977-78 season, Mr. Lefortier gave his place as chairman to Mr. Chaillon. Lefortier, still a fervent supporter of the ASC, is one of the founders of the club. After years of presidency, he retired with the honors of the club.

The CSA exports ! From 1979 to 1983, the club will travel. In 1979, the CSA goes to Germany for a football exchange. Their German counterparts came to Normandy the following year. Over a few years, Cahagnes forged a very special relationship with Saint-Drézéry (Hérault). Matches take place between the two villages, which gives the opportunity for trips and memorable parties for many...

Pros in Cahagnes. Cahagnes is once again in the spotlight by organizing a football party with the participation of two professional teams: Laval and Tours. A thousand people crowd around the beautiful lawn. All the volunteers of the club mobilized to transform the stadium into a quasi-professional arena. For the record, Laval (European team) has got Tours by 2 goals to 0.

The stadium now has a name. On July 12, 1986, the name of Charles Blin is given to the municipal stadium. Former mayor of the commune and deceased in 1984, Mr Blin is at the origin of the club. Having been head of the municipality since 1969, he encouraged the creation of the stadium which was particularly close to his heart. Football was his favorite sport.

Birth of the summer football camp in Cahagnes. At the initiative of the ASC, Jean-Claude Médot and Pascal Théault, the Summer Football Camps were created in July 1986. This course is still relevant! Many children participate every year in the many activities offered: football, tennis ball, swimming pool ...

Rise of the First Team. After years of hard work, it was in 1985-1986 that the CSA reached the first district division under the leadership of Jean-Claude Médot (former professional) for the first time in its existence.

Baptism of Fire in the First Division. The 1st team of the CSA, under the direction of Michel Loriot, produced a good game and maintained itself easily in the first division of district during the years 1986-1987 and 1987-1988. In this last season, Team B finished as a group champion and moved into the second district division. But the seasons follow each other but are not the same: Team A goes down and brings down Team B, although it is maintained sportily. The club of Cahagnes, meanwhile, is still developing and sees the creation of a team C, bringing together former players who remained friends and wanting to enjoy themselves on Sunday.

A football school was born. The arrival at the club of Francis Torché in 1993, is combined with two major events: the ascent into the 1st division of the pennion team in June 1994, as well as the structuring of the football school. Before that, the young people of Cahagnes could play to defend the colors but Francis allowed the club to cross a new bridge, that of progressing thanks to a flawless organization. Motivated and graduate educators will take care of the destinies of the CSA’s start-ups.

1995-1999. The 95/96 season was one of the CSA’s best. Indeed, the first team finished 3rd of its group in the 1st division and lost only in the final of the 1st division cup. In addition, the team reserves access to the second division by finishing best second of all the groups of 3rd division.

- May 1996: First division cup final;

- June 1997: First complete clothing for seniors;

- May 1999: 32nd final of the Coupe de Basse-Normandie against Valognes (DHR), defeat in the extensions

- June 1999: First participation in National Beginners' Day.
